Ways to put Grok Bot on the phone
Two ways to put Grok Bot on the phone: a dedicated Bland number, or a free outbound try from a shared number. Setup lives on the Grok Bot page.
Grok Bot is an AI agent from SpaceXSI, the company behind the Grok chatbot. We're Bland. Our Agent Phone Plan gives an AI agent a phone number. Grok Bot can use Bland only with a compatible setup. Confirm that your Grok Bot version works with Bland before buying a plan; compatibility for the Phone with Bland template is still unconfirmed.
Choose a number for calls and texts, or try a call first#
- Phone number: Dedicated number: One US local number for Grok Bot; Free try: A shared Bland number that other people also call from
- Calls Grok Bot places: Dedicated number: Yes, up to the plan's caps; Free try: Yes
- Calls people make to Grok Bot: Dedicated number: Yes, up to the plan's caps; Free try: No
- Text messages: Dedicated number: Yes, up to the plan's caps; Free try: No
You can try it for free. That try covers outbound calls only from a shared Bland number: no dedicated number, no texting, no incoming calls.
On the paid plan, Bland's texting agent replies automatically using the goal Grok Bot supplies with the first text request. For setup and plan limits, see Grok Bot phone calls. Price is on AI phone number cost.
Can't Grok Bot already make calls?#
It can now. Elon Musk posted on 25 October 2026 that Grok Bot can call a person or business and report back. Its terms cover calls placed or received for you. Each call says it is made by a virtual assistant and may be recorded. You are the caller of record, so each call counts as coming from you. Any number assigned for that calling is temporary and can be reclaimed by its provider. We could not find a published plan, price, or country list for that built-in service.
With a compatible Bland connection, Grok Bot passes your request to Bland's AI voice and reads the call summary afterward.

Connecting Grok Bot to Bland#
Phone with Bland is a ready-made template you add to Grok Bot. Its underlying connection method is not documented, so follow its setup only after confirming compatibility with your version.
Bland also documents two developer routes: Grok Bot starts signup itself, or you supply an existing Bland API key (a secret credential for your account).
For developers: what must those routes support?#
Both documented routes use a custom MCP connection. MCP is a standard for connecting AI apps to outside tools. Check that your version accepts the server URL https://api.bland.ai/v1/mcp and an Authorization request header carrying your Bland key. Bland's docs say the plugin setup process does not establish support for those settings. This check does not settle the Phone with Bland template's connection method.
Where can I read how Grok Bot pays, and see worked errands?#
For a new Bland account, Grok Bot can start signup and pay through Link, a payment app, after you approve the payment there. The Link payment covers only the first month; the owner must put a card on file for monthly renewal. The accepted payment method and setup are explained in how Grok Bot signs up for its own Bland number. Worked errands are in what Grok Bot can do with a dedicated phone number.
The paid plan starts when you approve it. Verify the connection first, then decide whether you need the plan.

FAQ#
Is the Agent Phone Plan the same as Grok Bot's built-in calling?#
No. It is a separate Bland service that needs a compatible connection to Grok Bot. Use the comparison above to choose between Bland's free try and paid number.
Is Bland part of SpaceXSI?#
No. Bland is a separate company.
