ClawdTalk alternative for an OpenClaw agent that needs a phone
Looking for a ClawdTalk alternative? Five ways to give an OpenClaw agent a phone number, when each is the better pick, and the daily caps on ours.

OpenClaw is an AI assistant that runs tasks for you. ClawdTalk adds phone calls to it. Alternatives include Bland's Agent Phone Plan, other ready-made calling services, and a phone connection you build yourself.
Bland sells the Agent Phone Plan, which gives an AI assistant one US local number for calls and texts. Our plan has daily caps: 50 calls, 1,000 call minutes, and 100 texts. If you need a ClawdTalk alternative with no daily limits, our plan does not meet that requirement. An unpublished limit on a rival's page also does not mean unlimited use.

What does ClawdTalk give an OpenClaw agent?#
ClawdTalk is Telnyx's service for adding calls and messages to OpenClaw. Its pricing page uses the name "ClawTalk" and lists three plans.
- Free plan: Price: $0, on a shared line, and its bot can only call your verified number; Call minutes: 15; Messages: 20; Calls at once: 1
- Starter: Price: $12 a month plus a $20 number-registration fee; Call minutes: 100; Messages: 100; Calls at once: 3
- Pro: Price: $30 a month plus the same $20, with overage at $0.02 a minute and $0.01 a message; Call minutes: 1,000; Messages: 500; Calls at once: 20
It works with OpenClaw only. We found no daily limit published on the pricing page, which lists minutes and messages for each plan instead. The allowances differ as well as the prices: our 1,000 call minutes reset daily, while Pro includes 1,000 minutes for the month.
Which alternative fits which situation?#
Bland comes first because we sell it. Choose according to what your OpenClaw agent needs, especially whether it must run more than one call at once.
Calls and texts on one flat plan#
Bland's Agent Phone Plan connects OpenClaw to our calling and texting tools. You give OpenClaw an instruction, and Bland's voice AI handles the spoken conversation. The OpenClaw setup guide explains how to connect your account. The plan gives your agent one US local number for calls and texts, with calls and texts to US and Canada numbers at no per-minute or per-text charge, up to the caps below. The flat price covers use within these limits:
- Your account can run one call at a time.
- The allowance is 20 calls an hour and 50 a day.
- Incoming and outgoing calls share 1,000 minutes a day.
- Each outgoing call can last up to 60 minutes.
- Your agent can send up to 20 texts an hour and 100 a day, including automatic replies.
- Calls and texts can only go to US and Canada numbers.
OpenClaw needs permission to use your Bland account before it can use your number.

How do developers configure the connection?#
OpenClaw uses MCP, a standard that lets AI apps use external tools. Add Bland's phone call MCP server under mcp.servers in ~/.openclaw/openclaw.json. Store your API key, the credential for your Bland account, in the BLAND_API_KEY environment variable rather than in the configuration file.
It's the better pick when ClawdTalk's free plan is too narrow, since that plan only calls your verified number, and you'd like to pay one price rather than count minutes. It's the wrong pick when you need several calls at once. If you need more calls at once, see Build on our pricing page.
You're happy on ClawdTalk and just need more room#
Then stay if the allowances suit you. At 100 minutes and 100 messages, Starter's $12 is also less than our $19.99. ClawdTalk Pro allows 20 simultaneous calls with 1,000 monthly minutes; Bland allows one at a time with 1,000 daily minutes. Compare the allowances your agent needs.
You only need calls, and you want a low flat price#
ClawCall is a finished calling agent for US numbers, and its site lists $8.99 a month on shared numbers or $14.99 for a reserved number, with no per-minute charge. It handles one call at a time, US +1 destinations only, and it doesn't send texts from a number. Its pages list OpenClaw among the agents it works with.
You want a number and pay-as-you-go pricing#
AgentPhone sells numbers and phone tools for developers, with these published rates:
- A US or Canadian number, every 30 days: AgentPhone charges: $3.00
- A minute when your own AI handles conversation: AgentPhone charges: $0.13
- A minute when AgentPhone runs the AI: AgentPhone charges: $0.22
- One text segment: AgentPhone charges: $0.02
A long text may count as several segments, so the segment rate is not always the price of a whole message.
Dial is another service for developers, and its setup file lists OpenClaw. Its rates have the same numeric figures, but Dial bills $0.02 per US message while AgentPhone bills $0.02 per segment. Dial's number fee is monthly; AgentPhone's applies every 30 days.
We found no number for calls at once on AgentPhone's pages, and the only cap we found for Dial applies to free accounts, so ask before you plan around several at once.
You want to run it yourself#
OpenClaw's official voice-call plugin adds incoming and outgoing calls through a phone provider: Twilio, Telnyx or Plivo. You supply the phone account and number.
What did the plugin's October release add?#
The October release added task briefs, live steering and outcome reports. These let you describe a task, steer an ongoing conversation and receive a report afterward.
This route needs configuration and a separate phone-provider account. The plugin provides no number, and your phone provider's rates apply.
For developers: what must you configure?#
The plugin needs your provider credentials, a number to call from and a public web address where it can receive phone events. Developers call that address a webhook.
So what should an OpenClaw user pick?#
If daily limits are the dealbreaker, ask each provider for its limits before building. We found no daily cap on the ClawdTalk, plugin or Telnyx pages we read, and we did not check Twilio's or Plivo's. An unpublished limit may still exist.
Bland's plan fits one agent doing errands one at a time, with calls and texts from one US number. It costs $9.99 for the first month (once per account owner), then $19.99 a month. The full details are on the AI phone number cost page.
You can try it for free. That try covers outbound calls only, from a shared Bland number: no dedicated number, no texting, no incoming calls.
