Agent phone number pricing compared: 2026 providers

The cheapest way to give an AI agent a phone number depends on how much it calls and texts. Prices from over a dozen providers, with rival prices checked [re-check date].

For an AI assistant that uses 60 call minutes and 50 texts sent and received in total each month, the cheapest ready-made option with a dedicated number in this comparison is Hail: $7.90, or $8.50 with its default recording left on. That total excludes taxes, mobile network surcharges, and registration fees.

Bland sells the Agent Phone Plan. It gives your AI assistant one US local number for calls and texts. Our price is $9.99 for the first month (once per account owner), then $19.99 a month, so ours is more expensive for that light month. Full allowances are on our AI phone number cost page.

A monthly fee becomes cheaper as use rises. At 50 texts a month, Bland's ongoing $19.99 price beats AgentPhone or Dial at about 70 to 120 call minutes, depending on whether those companies run the voice AI or you do. Against Hail, the crossover is about 165 to 180 minutes, depending on recording. ClawCall's calls-only flat plans remain cheaper if you do not need texts. These crossovers exclude the separate cost of running your own AI on the AgentPhone or Dial own-agent route.

You can pay one monthly price, pay for each minute and text, or buy the phone connection and AI separately.

An AI phone setup can use a flat monthly plan within limits, a number with separate usage charges, or phone and voice AI components that you assemble yourself

How is a phone number for an agent priced?#

The comparison uses each provider's standard monthly or per-unit rates. Annual billing, promo codes and volume tiers may cost less.

What does a light month cost?#

The baseline is one number, 60 call minutes and 50 texts sent and received in total, before taxes, carrier surcharges and registration fees. For AgentPhone, every message in these calculations fits one billable segment. Dial lists a rate per US message instead. Check which messages and extra fees each provider bills before buying. Rows that leave something out say so: ClawCall's $8.99 plan uses shared numbers (its reserved number is $14.99), and rows marked calls only have no texts.

The light-month calculation uses one dedicated number, 60 minutes of calls and 50 text messages before taxes, network surcharges and registration fees

The own-agent totals below cover the phone service and exclude the separate cost of running your AI. The vendor-hosted rows include that vendor's voice AI rate. Bland is first because we sell it. The other rows run from the lowest monthly total upward, but check what each includes before comparing prices.

  • Bland Agent Phone Plan: Total: $19.99 ($9.99 for the first month, once per account owner); What it covers: Flat, one number, calls and texts to US and Canada numbers up to our plan's caps
  • Hail: Total: $7.90 ($8.50 with its default recording at $0.01 a minute); What it covers: $1.00 number, 60 minutes at $0.10, 50 US texts at $0.018
  • ClawCall, shared numbers: Total: $8.99; What it covers: Flat plan, calls only, doesn't send texts from a number
  • AgentPhone or Dial, your own agent: Total: $11.80; What it covers: $3.00 number, 60 minutes at $0.13, 50 texts at $0.02
  • ClawdTalk Starter: Total: $12.00; What it covers: Plan covers 100 minutes and 100 messages. Works only with the OpenClaw AI assistant and adds a $20 number-registration fee
  • call4me, calls only: Total: $15.00; What it covers: Free US number, 60 minutes at $0.25, texting not described
  • AgentPhone or Dial, hosted by the vendor: Total: $17.20; What it covers: $3.00 number, 60 minutes at $0.22, 50 texts at $0.02
  • AgentLine Individual: Total: $20.00; What it covers: Plan covers 100 minutes and 400 texts sent and received in total

Why can't I compare the rows marked calls only with the rest?#

The rows that say "calls only" leave texting out on purpose, because we didn't find texting from a number on those products' pages, so they aren't directly comparable with the rest.

AgentPhone passes mobile network surcharges through and requires registration before US texting, at a one-time $25 or $70. Dial also charges a one-time fee for 10DLC, the US registration system for business texts sent from local numbers. Those fees are excluded from the monthly totals above. Check with AgentPhone which of its $25 or $70 registration fees applies to you.

Is there a free way?#

There are free ways to start and each has a catch, so we'll start with ours. You can try it for free. That try covers outbound calls only, from a shared Bland number: no dedicated number, no texting, no incoming calls.

Other free starting offers have different allowances:

  • AgentPhone gives $5 of starting credit, which its FAQ says covers a number and about 100 texts.
  • AgentLine's first number starts a 7-day trial with 10 call minutes and 10 texts.
  • ClawdTalk's free plan is $0 for 15 call minutes and 20 messages on a shared line, and its bot can only call your verified number.

Is DialMCP free?#

DialMCP is free during its launch, allows 3 calls an hour and 10 a day, and calls from your own verified number, with pricing that "may be introduced later with notice".

Where does a flat plan beat a metered one?#

AgentPhone and Dial charge the same published phone rates in this calculation. Their rows using your own AI exclude any costs of running that AI, which you supply separately. The crossover figures above also exclude those costs. The examples count texts sent and received, and Bland's totals assume your agent stays inside our plan's limits.

  • 60 minutes and 50 texts: Bland monthly total: $20.00; AgentPhone or Dial using your AI: $11.80; AgentPhone or Dial running the AI: $17.20
  • 150 minutes and 300 texts: Bland monthly total: $20.00; AgentPhone or Dial using your AI: $28.50; AgentPhone or Dial running the AI: $42.00
  • 500 minutes and 1,000 texts: Bland monthly total: $20.00; AgentPhone or Dial using your AI: $88.00; AgentPhone or Dial running the AI: $133.00
The three monthly examples use 60 call minutes and 50 texts, 150 minutes and 300 texts, or 500 minutes and 1,000 texts, counting texts sent and received

Those limits are:

  • Your account can run one call at a time.
  • The allowance is 20 calls an hour and 50 a day.
  • Incoming and outgoing calls share 1,000 minutes a day.
  • Each outgoing call can last up to 60 minutes.
  • Your agent can send up to 20 texts an hour and 100 a day, including automatic replies.
  • Calls and texts can only go to US and Canada numbers.

If you need more calls at once, see Build on our pricing page.

How does the plan's texting work?#

Give Bland a goal with your first text so it knows how to answer replies. Setup details are on AI phone number to text.

What about the parts you assemble yourself?#

Twilio and Telnyx sell phone connections, while Vapi and Speko supply tools for voice AI. Their component rates leave work or charges outside the figures below, so these are not totals for a working agent.

  • Twilio: a $1.15 local number, $0.0140 a minute to place a call and $0.0083 a text segment plus carrier fees. A long message can count as several segments.
  • Telnyx: $1.00 a number, $0.10 a month more to add SMS and MMS, and $0.004 per text part plus a carrier fee. A long message can contain several parts. Its voice AI engine is $0.05 a minute, with AI processing and the phone connection charged separately.
  • Vapi: $0.05 a minute for hosting, plus speech-to-text software, AI processing and generated speech. Its free number receives calls only. Outgoing calls need a number bought from another provider and connected to Vapi.
  • Speko: $1 setup and $2 a month for a number, and $0.09 a minute for Speko's voice infrastructure. Telephony is charged separately at the carrier's rate plus a 20% markup, with telephony minimums of $0.01 a minute for incoming calls and $0.015 for outgoing calls.

Speko texting needs an approved 10DLC campaign. Approval takes about a week, and the per-text price isn't published.

Bland is an official Twilio partner, so none of this is meant as a case against carriers. A carrier sells a line at low per-unit rates, and what you build above it is up to you.

Use your expected minutes and texts to compare the ongoing monthly bill, then add any registration and mobile network fees.
